Chapter 1 of 5

The Square

The square format is a statement of equality — no axis dominates, no direction is privileged. Within this symmetry, everything becomes about the surface itself: the marks, the layers, the accumulated texture.

Chapter 2 of 5

Texture as Voice

In Echoes in Texture, the surface is the subject. Layers of acrylic were built up, scraped back, built again — each action leaving its trace, each trace becoming part of a larger conversation between what was and what is.

Chapter 3 of 5

The Echo

An echo is not the original sound — it is the sound after the source has gone, changed by the space it has travelled through. The marks in this painting echo each other: similar but never identical, repeating but never exactly.

Chapter 4 of 5

Small Scale, Deep Attention

At 16×16 inches, this work rewards closeness. The detail reveals itself only to those who come near — the small painting that holds more than its size suggests.

A Surface Worth Living With

Echoes in Texture is the kind of work that shows you something new each time you look. It is not solved in one viewing — it opens slowly, the way all textured things do.
